On June 7, according to media sources: the governments of Argentina and China have reached an agreement on a new corn supply agreement, which will come into effect on May 30 this year.
This new agreement updates the list of pests banned in China. According to the revised agreement, Argentina will provide relevant information to China and monitor whether exporting companies meet the necessary quality standards and all delivery requirements.
Although China and Argentina signed a corn quality inspection agreement many years ago, Argentina has not exported corn to China in large quantities because it is difficult for Argentine exporters to comply with all regulations.
With the entry into force of the new agreement, it will help simplify the process of Argentina’s chemical export and enhance the competitiveness of Argentine corn relative to the United States, Ukraine and Brazil.
