On June 7, the upcoming summer will again bring Iranian steelmakers to power cuts.
Still, anticipation of this year’s blackouts and their negative impact on steel production is slightly better than in the past, with the Iranian government offering several options to ease the pressure it faces during the hot and challenging season.
But power supply disruptions will happen anyway and will lead to higher prices for the main steel commodity.
Iranian steel producers are working on a plan to get through this challenging period of power cuts with minimal losses.
Assuming that steelmaking operations are the most energy-intensive and thus likely to be a bottleneck for production, Iranian mills are considering more viable DRI sales trades.
