Extreme weather continues, India’s agricultural production cuts, prices soar

by Joy

On June 30, extreme weather in India has continued recently. The continuous high temperature and rainfall have seriously affected the growth of crops, resulting in a decline in fruit and vegetable production, interruption of logistics, soaring fruit and vegetable sales prices, and affecting people’s lives.

Since the beginning of June, India has continued to experience high temperatures, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in many places, resulting in reduced crop production. On the one hand, waterlogging and floods caused by continuous rainfall have reduced crop yields. On the other hand, heavy rains have also brought challenges to transportation and logistics. In some areas, bridges have been washed away and roads have been flooded, making transportation difficult.
